Life is a beach!

Today I took the day off and decided to dip my virtual toes in the white sandy beaches of Serendipitous Sands.  The description of the place promised that besides being a rental location, that it offered a great place for photos.  Not one to resist the beach or a bikini it was all the invitation I needed.

Something I have noticed in my travels is that there are sims that are put together with little effort and little expense, and then there is a photographers sim.  A sim that is designed with the only care being fore the quality and beauty of the place they are creating.  Though not very big, and with part of its land occupied with private homes, this sim definitely offers the above.

This sim is the perfect location for scenery shots with its beautiful textures and simply stunning decorating, as well as being an amazing place to use as a back drop as it offers numerous interactive objects.

Make sure to keep your eyes wide open while exploring the sim otherwise you can miss a million tiny little details that make this sim as beautiful as it is.

Perfectly kept to theme, you truly feel like you have landed on a tropical Island where life is completely perfect.  Even though it took me no time at all to tour the public areas, I could have easily spent all day there just taking photos.
The windlightings are set beautifully but feel free to play with your own lighting to capture that perfect picture.

Visit alone for some peaceful time, visit to take photos, or simply to hang out with some friends.  Either way, this sim is perfect for any occasion and has definitely made its way into my Must Keep list of Landmarks.

"Photographers, bloggers, vloggers, artists, dreamers and lovers welcome."

So I found this little sim located in the middle of no where.  A place promising to have been created by photographers for photographers.

A sweet little sim that centers around the mystic and fairy tale like, it offers no windsight settings so play around with your light settings to find what works best for you

You will love that there are so many interactive objects.  Bring your own poses to take pictures in the vast fields of flowers or use the objects scattered about

My only complaint about the sim is that there is so many interactive objects that its hard to capture a picture without capturing something else in the back ground that may no go with the theme you are trying to capture.

example: this giant snail!  Though adorably cute, I could keep seeing him in some of my pictures, for example one I was trying to take of her setting out laundry.  Needless to say, I didn't get the picture I wanted.

My favorite part of this sim was the flowers, bright and colorful, scattered throughout the sim, you can almost smell them they look so real and beautiful.

I would definitely put this on your must visit list, and you are definitely going to capture at least a few photos you end up loving.

I AM DONE WITH WINTER!!!!

April 20th and can you believe it, if f%&$ing SNOWED TODAY!!!!!  This Canadian feels like winter is never going to end.  True the snow didn't stay, and I can finally see my tulips in the front yard poking their greenery through, but it doesn't change the fact that it SNOWED TODAY!!!!

So, frustrated, angry and freaking cold, I logged onto second life today and officially declared I am done with winter!  I then proceeded to go through my inventory and find my cutest, barely there summer items to prove how serious I am, and headed to the nearest beach, hoping, that perhaps, if my AV could feel the virtual sun, I would warm up at least a bit in real life.

As some of you know from previous posts, I adore the beach and water in all worlds and could easily devote the rest of my life to living on one as long as I had the money to keep the tequila sunrises coming, so Kanaloa Beach was a delightful place to park myself.

Now I will admit, in rl and sl, i'm kind of a pampered beach bunny.  True in both worlds I love to sail but my time on the beach isn't spent trying to break my neck with sports.  I just want to have some drinks, soak up the sun, and enjoy the sound of the rushing waves.

I can appreciate those who love to surf and water ski to name a few of the sports available, and to those who do, this is certainly your sim.  The first thing you will notice upon arriving is the huge waves rolling into shore that seem to beg for a surf board.  Don't worry, you won't have to look too far, you can find them scattered through out the sim and available for use.  When speaking with owner Watarushore, I learned that he is in rl and sl, devoted to the sport and eagerly wanted to make a sim where all could enjoy not only that, but the feel and calm of the ocean.

This location has been open to the public for two years now, and was scattered with people when I arrived.  Some of which were surfing, other simply enjoying the surroundings.

To my fellow photographers, the sim doesn't provide a huge amount of animated objects, but you will certainly find a stunning back drop to any pose you take with you.

Now to answer that burning question.................................I loved my time at Kanaloa, I will totally be back and recommend you all go as well, but damn it my hands are still cold in real life.  This mind over matter S&*T didn't work!!!!

- A Winter Story-

Some of you may remember from my previous writings that in real life I live in Canada.  Yes we have long season of what feels like Winter, with snow usually carrying into early spring.  No I don't live in an igloo, nor do I get around town by dog and sled, but I do know how to face some cold weather and know what its like to be snowed into a house.

Currently in my part of Canada, we received 45 cms (17.7 inches) on the first day of Spring!!  Now I no some people think this is the norm for us , but trust me, normally by April I am seeing my lawn popping up through the snow................that is NOT the case this year.  (to you people reading from Florida, one in particular who keeps sending me weather updates, %$#@ You!!)

Why am I telling you this you may ask?  Besides to give you amusement in my misery?  I'm telling you this so you can understand that when I showed up to shop, I was less then pleased to see a snowy sim greeted me. It feels like this fluffy S&*% is following me everywhere!

I couldn't help but capture pictures, and despite the snow, I was soon caught up in the beauty of this sim.  Perfectly decorated it offers a fantastic back drop to photos or just some landscape shots.

Worth visiting for its beauty not to mention its great show case of designers located in the area.  Make sure you book mark this place.  Happy Shopping and happy Snapping.
